Who me? I have a blog?

Happy New Year everyone! It's crazy that its 2010! And make sure you remember that the National-whatever-grammar-people want you to say twenty ten. OR ELSE! I never know how to start these things out... Christmas Break comes to an end tomorrow. Sad day. But the break was great, and my life is slightly more exciting than these pictures would suggest.
Stan and I had a very relaxing Christmas in Oklahoma, where we ate some of the most delicious food and I'm pretty sure we watched every single bowl game that was on. Except for the Ohio State/Oregon game where I couldn't bring myself to cheer for either one of them. So we put in Star Trek :).
We were fortunate enough to get tickets to see the OKC Thunder play the Jazz. Don't get me started on the Jazz this year. They lost to the freaking Thunder by one point. They didn't even show up for the game until the last three minutes. Oh well, the Thunder deserved that win. Stan, my dad and me were the only ones there cheering for the Jazz. We got the strangest looks. This pic below is us at the game but flashes weren't allowed so the color turned out all weird. Yep looks like every other picture of us together. Let's see what else, sadly I have three jobs. Granted two of them are only five hours a week each. My job teaching 4-5 year olds math is teaching me more than them. Turns out 4 and 5 year olds don't want to learn math. Go figure.
Even though I may be folding towels at a different location, I'm still tired of it. And the computer labs are treating me right nice.
Now this next picture is CRAZY. I had a measuring glass spontaneous combust!(OK there weren't really any flames). I was laying in bed about to go to sleep, when I heard something crash. We both ran downstairs to see who was breaking into our house to discover nothing. I later found this just to reveal my messy cupboard. Exciting stuff I know. I just thought it was weird that it broke on it's own...
Good luck to everyone who starts school tomorrow! And to those who don't, have a Happy January 11th!

Football season

So I'm doing this post from a mac, and I don't care what you people say it's driving me nuts. Pandora FREAKED OUT and of course I blame the little apple on this here screen.
Saturday, Stan and I went to the Aggie football game and believe or not, I dragged Stan there! I think I've finally fallen off of my rocker. It was 28 degrees and snowing! And yes, here I am admitting it, our football team could be better. It was fun and I needed the fun after completely failing my PRAXIS test so I will never get certified, never be able to student teach, never be able to graduate and go bankrupt because the stupid test took all of my money and I can't get a good job because everyone will know how I failed the PRAXIS. :) I'm not trying to be dramatic.
The picture above doesn't quite illustrate the intensity of the snow. The one below does however illustrate just how cold I was.
This is us happy that football season is ALMOST over because I just can't take the heartbreak anymore.

37 days until Christmas....

A Blog about a Frog

This is our pet guard frog Chainsaw. I figured I should do a post about him in case he dies soon. I know that's morbid but I can't even keep plants alive. And he's almost three months old! Happy almost month birthday Chainsaw!

Other pictures include the Orchids Stan got me just because. He's so sweet! We had a fun little date night.

I love this picture of Janet and I on her wedding ..almost four months ago...
This one is fun too. And the winner, for most random post goes to........

Chelsey!!!!!

I'm not cute, Good thing the cutest blog on the block is.

Anyone know how to make that giant picture at the top smaller? It freaks me right out whenever I go to my page! Yikes there's my face!

So, I'm sitting here arguing with my husband over texts about how I should go about learning Spanish. He's suggesting this long list of people that I could learn from, all RMs mind you. And in my experience and even from what he's told me, RMs just don't like teaching people. I took a class, 1010, which was SUPER easy and I just retained any extra verbos o palabras for the test and then it was gone because I was so worried about my other classes. This Special Ed stuff is just not tickling my fancy, which I knew it wouldn't. I LOVE the kids just not the methods that I'm supposed to use to teach them. I have to stick it out until I can get to the good Teach English as a Second Language fun. I've studied facebook and netflix more than my actual classes. That's bad news. At least the blog is getting more attention. (c'mon, you knew school whining had to come up).

In other news, Aggies lost last night. Sad day. Stan got to go to the game which I was SO jealous. Maybe I'll get some of those pics from him and put some on here to spice things up. This picture is from our fourth of July. I took it secretly with my crappy phone camera. We went mullet counting at a demo derby in Ogden. Yes, that is a dude with long shiny hair. Business in the front, party in the back my friends.

I leave you with an Arrested Development Quote:
Lindsay: We are not the only ones who kill trees. What about beavers? You call yourself an acitivist? Why don't you go out and club some beavers?

yeah, I'm procrastinating.

over and out.

Day Four of No Phone...

As the title would suggest, yes I am still without a cellular telephone. And yes it really has only been four days. It feels like a year. Such long days of isolation from the outside world. Although today, I sat with someone at lunch that I probably would've just waved at and moved on because I would've just gotten a text from someone that I could meet. It was nice, so being out of communication is making me more social. Instead of just texting Shaugh, I went by her place of employment to ask a question. Again, more social. The biggest problem is that I'm now completely oblivious to the time. I refuse to wear a watch for who knows why. If I stop you in the hall to ask what time it is, don't think I'm weird.

This whole episode spurred the most impulsive ebay buy of my life. Sure I've bought my
fair share of ebay auctioned items, but I've always shopped around and bid on the items with at least a few hours left. However, this particular item (a new phone) only had 2 minutes left. Yes two minutes. I quickly scanned the page and went to place a bid. *gasp* I wasn't signed in! I signed in to find that I then had 25 seconds left. I placed my bid and it was mine. Oops! Ebay will surely be the death of me, (by my husband) I can't stand to be outbid. My competitive side rarely comes out. These times are the exception.

Happy second day of school everyone. I will have to save that rant for another post. I don't expect it'll be too far out. Let the procrastination begin! Sometimes facebook just doesn't cut it.

The Last Weekend of Summer

*Disclaimer: this is Stan writing, not Chelsey. She wanted me to make sure to write that.*
Well, the summer is over as of tomorrow. Sad day. We had a really good summer. Chels already blogged about the cruise. We basically just relaxed all summer. It was a nice change from last semester, when we were busy every stinking day. We tried to go camping a few times, but I guess the powers that be don't want us in the outdoors. Every time we were going to go, we either decided to do something else, or it didn't work out. Like this weekend, we were going to rent a kayak from the ORC at USU and go up the canyon to go camping and kayaking. We got a late start and didn't get up the canyon until about nine thirty or so, and every campground in the entire canyon was packed. It was nuts. So we went kayaking at Hyrum Dam yesterday instead. It was fun, chasing the speedboats around to ride their wake. But, it was a great summer, and we're not looking forward to the next four months of school, but that's life.
